Q: What is the registration deadline?
- Week 1 - February 17th
- Week 2 - February 24th
- Week 3 - March 2nd
- Week 4 - March 9th
Q. When do I need to arrive?
Registration is on Sundays from 2 - 8 PM at the Quality Inn hotel. Our leaders meeting will start at 9 PM at the hotel.
Q. Is there an age limit?
Yes. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Q. Do I need to bring any tools?
You need to bring your own pair of work gloves and safety goggles. Any other tools you need will be provided.
Q. What meals are covered?
The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast every day of the conference. Lunches will also be provided as part of your conference cost. Dinner will be on your own. There are many restaurants open in the city or you can head to a grocery store.
Q. What will the week look like?
Sunday - Registration & leader’s meeting
Monday/Wednesday - Work days & a large group meeting at night
Tuesday/Thursday - Work days & free nights
Friday - Check out of hotel by noon
Q. Do you need experienced sheetrockers?
Do you have any experience with sheetrocking? As New Orleans moves to rebuilding skilled laborers are needed. Please contact Danielle Firsching for more information.
Rate your skill as:
- A = expert (feel confident to lead a team in sheetrocking a house)
- B = experienced (you know what you are doing)
- C = brief experience (you have had some exposure but need a little guidance
Q: Do we need local transportation?
Yes. We cannot guarantee that an entire group will be going to the same location. Worksites are also not within walking distance of the housing. Please plan on needing to transport teams to different sites. Parking at the hotels is free for regular vehicles. Buses will be a $25/day.
