What to Bring
- Work boots
- Work gloves
- Safety glasses
- 4 sets of lightweight long-leg and long-sleeve work clothes
- Jeans, t-shirts, a sweatshirt, modest shorts (the weather could be hot or cold, so plan on –dressing in layers)
- PJs
- Bandanas or Sweat Rags
- Toiletries (don’t forget the deodorant!)
- Camera
- Cell phone and charger
- Bug Spray
- Sunscreen
- Card Games/Books (for down times in the evenings)
- Bible and Notebook
- Money for souvenirs or eating out
- If you’re under 18, please bring a release form (linked to Katrina Volunteers minors under the age of 18.doc on the “Download Files” on the current website) signed by your parents
- Bring a flexible, positive attitude. We might need to ask you to do something that you do not want to do – for the good of everyone.
- Extra pair of glasses or contacts (if necessary), Anticipate dusty conditions
- Rain gear
- Immunization records and blood type information
- Hand sanitizer, over-the-counter medications such as antibiotic cream, bandages, allergy medicine etc.
- Any prescription medications for the length of the stay
